A Speculative design for a retail soccer store. The design tries to maximize and improve upon some existing retail technologies. A customizable shoe area displays custom shoe examples on a video display table that cycles through designs generated by customers both in-store and generated on the website. Customers can create their own shoes on site in kiosks featuring LED lighting that changes color according to color selections made by the customer.
A video screen area features seating shaped like soccer cleats. An easter egg/hidden video is only shown when the seating is aligned to the shoe outline on the floor.
The store's main feature is a performance area in the rear of the store. Users can sign up online before their visit or walk in to the area pending availability. The users data is displayed on a video wall, comparing shot speed, power, and accuracy to a professional player or other user of their choice. Users can try out different shoe models to see which enhances their performance best, and which shoe gives them the best touch and feel. The user's training is supplemented by training videos sent to them after their session and progress is tracked through the program.
